Inner Sunset
San Francisco, California
This project consists of the restoration and remodeling of a classic Edwardian Flat. The design objective was to faithfully restore the “bones” of the house, which had been neglected, by inserting modern, functional elements over this traditional backdrop — and all within a modest budget. The scope included the installation of new, historically appropriate oak-wood flooring with a mahogany inlay border, wood windows, and woodwork throughout the house, as well as the complete remodel of the Kitchen, Bathroom, and Powder Room. The Kitchen incorporated off-the-shelf cabinets that are detailed as if custom, and marble countertops. The Bathroom features glass mosaic wall tile, marble flooring, and medicine cabinets with integral lighting. The Powder Room features the same marble tile, but has walls detailed with painted wood moldings.
