The project is a remodel to an existing 1920’s traditional-style home located in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco. The re-imagined floor plan visually connects the front rooms of house to the rear yard through a galley Kitchen with pocket doors. A single Bathroom is reconfigured to create two full Bathrooms, one of them en-suite to a Primary Bedroom. Traditional materials like glazed ceramic tile, painted cabinetry, and hardwood floors tie the new design to the existing home — connecting the past to the present.
